Allison Cowin is Professor of Regenerative Medicine at the University of South Australia. She has over 190 peer-reviewed papers, editorials and book chapters describing her research into wound healing and scar formation.
She has been awarded $22M in grants including from the US Department of Defence and continuous NHMRC funding since 2004 for her work developing new technologies for the treatment of wounds.
This year her research was selected for the NHMRC’s 2025 “10 of the best” publication. She is a Fellow of both the Royal Society of Biology and Wounds Australia and is the current President of the Australasian Wound & Tissue Repair Society.
