Wominjeka! We welcome you to join us in Melbourne and Online for the 46th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Burn Association (ANZBA) being held September 12-15, 2023.
Our venue, the Pullman & Mercure Melbourne, is nestled in the traditional Country of the Boon wurrung People, overlooking the picturesque Albert Park Lake. The Conference & Events Centre is one of Melbourne’s largest, most comprehensively equipped event facilities and will serve as the perfect space for us to learn, share, collaborate, and connect. There will also time and space to explore, being only a stone’s throw away from St Kilda beach, the iconic Chapel Street, the Royal Botanical Gardens, and the Melbourne CBD.
The ANZBA meeting theme for 2023 is “Towards Zero”. We all imagine a future with zero burns, zero complications, zero scars, zero inequity, zero patient impact and zero waste. This ambitious goal raises many questions, like…
- Can we continue to utilise telehealth to reduce the time and expense burden for our patients?
- How can we use dressings to avoid skin grafts?
- Can we use new or improved technologies to prevent “bad” scar outcomes?
- How can we deliver culturally competent care to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples?
- Can we design biodegradable dressings that are effective whilst also minimising waste
- How can our prevention initiatives eradicate burns altogether?
Local and international speakers and delegates will come together to address these ‘towards zero’ themes from a clinical, research, and consumer perspective.
We look forward to welcoming you all to the 2023 ANZBA ASM in Melbourne and Online.
