Abstract:
Patients with severe burns to their hands will often experience deficits in strength, range of movement and hand function. Ongoing impairment may delay the return to previous life roles and impact on quality of life.
The onset of Covid restrictions limited many patient’s access to local hand therapy and travel, so our burns Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy team implemented a new bi-weekly telehealth hand strengthening class, to optimise functional outcomes for our patients with hand burns.
Effectiveness of the group therapy programme was evaluated.
