Dr Martha Druery was a Social Work Specialist in Intensive Care and Burns across adult and paediatric hospital settings from 1997 to 2013. Her PhD and post-doctoral research in collaboration with the Jamieson Trauma Institute, is centred around burn injury outcomes. As a mental health clinician, her group private practice in Brisbane focuses on supporting adjustment to traumatic injury and sudden death bereavement and therapeutically resourcing clinicians for optimised trauma resilience. She delivers training on trauma-informed practice for health professionals, also hosting restorative retreats equipping health professionals with an ‘inner PPE toolkit’ for protected practice in a demanding work world.
