Jill MeirtePT PhD, assistant professor University of Antwerp and senior researcher OscareProf. dr. Jill Meirte, is a physical therapist and scar specialist (Master in Physical Therapy, 2004). She finished a PhD in 2016 on scar assessments and physiotherapeutic treatments for patients with burn scars in collaboration with Oscare a (burn) scar after-care and research centre located in Antwerp. She combines research activities as senior researcher with coordinating and teaching responsibilities at the University of Antwerp. Her teaching activities cover topics such as the ICF created by the WHO, burn- and scare care. She is an ICF trainer and has special research interest and clinical experience in non-invasive physical burn and scar management, patient reported outcome measures, scar assessments and digitalizing care. She strives towards a scar”less” world with more patient-centered care.
