Michelle Innes, RN Michelle Innes is a registered nurse with 30 years of ICU experience, specialising in delirium prevention and management. She leads an evidence-based implementation project focused on improving delirium detection using the CAM-ICU tool and enhancing patient-centred care through family involvement.
The initiative also promotes non-pharmacological interventions to prevent and manage delirium. Michelle leads a multidisciplinary quality improvement project to strengthen delirium documentation, supporting safer communication and care. In 2025, she received the Excellence in Practice South Australian Nursing Excellence Award. Michelle co-convened the 2024 “Master Class in Critical Care” ICU delirium conference with the Australasian Delirium Association.
