Peter Thorburn spent 23 years addicted to AOD, with 8 of those years being methamphetamine dependent. In 2005, after getting out of jail for drug-related charges, he experienced a change of heart, got clean, and pursued education at university. Starting at MIT, he qualified as a general counselor and then specialized in addictions at AUT. He furthered his education at Auckland University, completing post-graduate qualifications in health science. Over the course of 18 years, Peter has worked as a specialist Addiction/Mental health educator, counselor, advocate, and consumer leader in a wide range of projects.
