Nigel Hamilton
Abstract:
Nigel will give a brief account of how he became a “burns anaesthetist” and why he continues to enjoy this role as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Fiona Stanley.
Biography:
I was born and schooled in Perth, WA, and attained my medical degree from the University of Western Australia in 2000. I began Anaesthetic training in 2005, and trained at the Alfred Hospital in Melbourne in 2007 and 2008. I obtained FANZCA in 2010 and began working as a Consultant Anaesthetist at Fremantle Hospital. In November 2014 I began working as a Consultant Anaesthetist Perth’s new Tertiary Hospital, Fiona Stanley Hospital, and administered the first General Anaesthetic in FSH. One year later a Burns Anaesthesia Group was formed at FSH of which I was an inaugural member.
