Thank you for submitting an ePoster to the 2023 ANZBA Annual Scientific Meeting

The following guidelines and resources are designed to assist with your preparation and participation.

Should you have any queries regarding the information provided or your participation please contact mail@conferencedesign.com.au.

Posters will be included in the Resource Gallery in the online portal, the ASM App and viewable via monitors onsite at the venue.

There will be no dedicated poster viewing sessions, however, with delegates able to view the posters at their leisure, they will be able to ask questions via the text Discussion forum in the online portal/ASM App, which you can answer at your convenience. Delegates will also be able to request to meet with you online to discuss the poster in further detail should they wish.

Presenters are required to upload their poster as a PowerPoint file via DropBox (link below) no later than Monday 21st August. This will allow us time to check your file, request resubmission where required and prepare your poster for the online portal.

Please ensure you use the ePoster template and it follows the below specifications:

  • 16:9 ratio landscape
  • Less than 20MB

If you have any concerns about preparing your poster please contact mail@conferencedesign.com.au

POSTERS

Why present a poster

A Poster is a visual medium that you use to communicate a key idea related to your research. It presents that idea in a verbal and graphic way.

Unlike an oral presentation, a poster does (most) of your talking – but the great thing about the OnAIR portal is that you too can discuss your poster like never before!

There are several advantages to presenting a poster:

  • Posters can be viewed at any time. Your Poster will be available throughout the meeting in the dedicated Resource Gallery.
  • Viewers can “absorb” the poster in their own time/way.
  • You will have the ability to not only share with viewers your poster but engage with delegates via the Discussion forum. Delegates can view your poster and then type any questions they may have for you to reply to via text.  You can also discuss your research at length with viewers on a one-to-one basis.

Prepare your ePoster using the template

ANZBA ePoster Template

Remember to save a PDF version of your poster slide and check it’s appearance before submitting it.

There is no specific criteria for the layout within the white space – use it as you wish.

We recommend including either your email or Twitter handle for attendees to be able to correspond with you in regards to your poster.

Media
All video and audio files must be embedded in your slide. As you will only be sending a single PowerPoint slide file, do not have links to any external media files. All videos, audio and animations should be set to auto play. We suggest you only embed one video or audio file and use animation sparingly.

Keep it Simple
Make your poster clear and clean, avoid unnecessary clutter and “special effects” that do not add value.

Keep the background simple and subtle; use a light coloured background for the main slide body.

Do not use WordArt, reflections, drop shadows, 3D, semi-transparent fills or textured backgrounds; they are unpredictable and are not necessary.

For consistency amongst the ePosters, please only use Verdana font for your text. Verdana is universal and will transfer correctly when combine your ePoster into the scrolling presentation.

The screen aspect ratio will be 16:9 and the template slide is already set up as a 16:9 slide.

DUE MONDAY 21 AUGUST

Posters must be provided to Conference Design:

  • In PowerPoint format.
  • As a single file. Multiple files will not be accepted.
  • Submit via the Poster Upload box above.
  • Files to be named: presenter name and poster title (Firstname_Lastname_Poster Title).

If making changes, always ensure to upload the latest version. Each upload is stamped with date/time so we will only use the latest version uploaded to the system.
